Carin has been a close friend, mentor, and board member at Athlete Ally for the past 7 years. In that time, her passion for LGBTQIA+ equality and social justice has helped our organization reach new levels of growth and impact thanks to her leadership. I am grateful to have Carin Ehrenberg as a member of our team and a champion of our mission.

Hudson Taylor: Founder and Executive Director of Athlete Ally

Dr. Carin Levine Ehrenberg is a clinical psychologist in New York City with 25 years of experience. She received her Ph.D. in Child and Clinical Psychology from St. John’s University and her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Michigan (‘88). At the University of Michigan, Carin served for seven years on the School of Information Advisory Board, has served for four years on the School of Education (SoE) Dean’s Advisory Council (where she serves as a leader of the SoE’s Capital Campaign), and also supports Athletes Connected, which provides mental health support and psychoeducation to the players, coaches and staff of Michigan Athletics.

Carin and her husband Roger have been actively engaged with The Human Dimension at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine, which places students in the field and focuses on the Social Determinants of Health, as well as the personal, economic, and environmental determinants. In her spare time, Carin is also passionate about supporting community youth sport and equality and access to sports, serving on the boards of Greenwich Village Little League, Athlete Ally, and Pier, Parks and Playground.

I met Carin through our work developing ‘children of character’ through the Greenwich Village Little League in Manhattan. Carin is a person who “walks the talk” … and she takes the time to thoroughly research a topic, and then commits to teaching others through discourse, listening and thoughtful action. Carin's tireless efforts inspire us all to be better leaders and advocates.

As a friend and board member of the Marsal Family School of Education, Dr. Ehrenberg’s dedication to enhancing opportunities for all people to learn and grow is simply outstanding.  She uplifts U-M’s Marsal Education as we work in partnership with the Detroit Public Schools to ensure equitable learning opportunities for children from Pre-K through grade 12 … I appreciate Dr. Carin Ehrenberg’s commitments to equity in our society across multiple dimensions.
